I sorta leaked it in another post but figured I should make it official. I’ve just been lazy. I bought me a 1984 (one year younger than me) Dodge Rampage 2.2!!!! Not the ideal exterior colour but I think that’ll change next year. Not too many pics yet but here’s a few. Sorry for the quality. The tree’d pics are all from the sellers ad, very potato taken are they.
That’s right, only 61,000km!
Drives great! Even in gravel! Even with a dirt bike in the back! Cruised the highways at 110-120km/h no problem. Great mileage, decent pep, not so much on the torque... it’s only a 2.2. Which they hilariously advertise EVERYWHERE on this truck.
Sidenote: The AMC Eagle is still in progress. I have not abandoned it. It’s been a busy summer.

Those seats are SO COMFY. My high school GF had an Omni with the exact same ones.
Glad you still have the eagle!

Fuck yeah!!!!! I love that interior. I wish we could have an Oppo 80's Mopar meet. My truck is from Edmonton originally

I had a roommate that had one of those, except his was red. Weird dude but it was a fun little car.

I didn’t realize Dodge had their own El Camino thing. Neat! That looks like a fine specimen. Love the interior.

There was also a 1983-only Plymouth version, the Scamp.

I’ve had many cars but this is one of the ones I wish I still had. It’s a fun car to drive which is surprising considering what it is and what performance was at the time.

Probably going to leave it mostly stock for the time being, especially given how not stock the Eagle is now. But if I keep it around I’ll probably get it repainted next year.

Oh yeah, the Eagle will definitely be my primary vehicle. And the Rampage seats have been further motivation to reupholster the Eagle’s seats with fabric.

Ironically the Rampage was originally purchased from a dealership up the road from my house in Calgary. I had to go up past Athabasca to bring it back.

I’ve heard they are a riot with a 3.0/A543 swap........

It looks like if someone got really creative with the front clip a fairly large engine could be shoved in there.

Pretty sure the 3.0/A543 would be a direct bolt in, it shares mounts with the 2.2/2.5L.
The 3.0 also takes very well to boost and makes over 300whp quite easily.
Just some food for thought.

I will keep this info on the back burner for the future... I’m not not interested in this...
